Amina Mohamed; Dilplomatically you weren’t Ripe for the Big African seat

  • Briefly
  • To Amina Mohammed: Diplomatically you weren’t yet Ripe for the big African Seat
  • A letter to Madam CS

Amina Mohammed was almost on it: her dream of becoming the next most powerful woman in the continent after Liberia’s president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was just an inch away. Amina was trending over social and mainstream media and her name was in every one’s mouth. In an effort to help her clinch onto power: government of Kenya led by his Excellency, President Uhuru Kenyatta began lobbying for her rise to AUC leadership.

30th January 2016 was Amina Mohammed’s’ D-day, She travelled to the Africa Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia hoping that she will come back with the chains of power wrapped around her neck. To cut a long story short, at the end of the day she lost to Chad’s former prime minister and the incumbent foreign affairs minister Moussa Faki Mahammat. He will suceed Nkosazana  Dlamini  Zuma who had stayed in office for six more extra months when African leaders failed to agree on who is the right candidate for the post. And this provided an opportunity for Amina and star began to rise. She was lucky to be among the nominees alongside Pelonomi Venson of Botswana ,Faki Mahamat of Chad and Abdoulaye Bathily of Senegal.

In the hotly contested African Union Chairmanship, it was not a straightforward battle  and for this it required unending determination to clinch the prestigious position. The Jubilee government in its own wisdom felt it was very ‘crucial’ for one of their staunchest and most skilled professional to be elected to a different level to manage and handle the entire continent’s issues.

A subcommittee led by the able Education cabinet secretary, Fred Matiangi was formed and the prime reason was to lay strategies on how to win a lot of votes from African heads of state. Sources indicates that the subcommittee is believed to have spent more than a billion Kenya shillings from the time of formation having toured more than fifty one African countries but unfortunately they did not clinch the seat.

From the expression and general feeling of Kenyans in various interactive platforms not secluding mainstream media, many were expecting her to lose terribly in the race. They felt her bid to win AU chairmanship was a situation of misplaced priorities.

At a point where doctors have gone  on strike for more than fifty eight days, no medical care ,no doctors in hospitals, thousands of poor Kenyans dying why would an individual be so important than the entire nation. Instead of the government fighting to resolve the disputed doctors 2013-2017 Collective Bargaining agreement (C.B.A), it is spending close to 4.5 billion Kenyan shillings lobbying for an individual.
In a country where it’s citizen are dying of hunger and drought in Turkana and  West Pokot, when government should be thinking of how to avert the situation and feed its starving, it seems improper that having our own elected as the AUC Chairperson however important is not the main priority. Even those voting were wondering how thousands of millions can be spent lobbying for her to lead starving citizens. Prayer of a hungry man was heard, she lost.

Uhuru prioritized Amina over lecturers and students affairs. No one is really talking about this for it looks petty in front of their eyes. Students are hanging around not knowing what next. Others survive on education loans board, the more the situation deteriorates, more it contributes negatively to their well-being.

And so many other issues. A vote to Amina Mohammed is a vote to status quo ,impunity and corrupt system.

Amina began losing the moment she lied to Al Jazeera Up Front host Mahmud Hassan that there are no cases of extra judicial killings in Kenya. She publicly declared so in an international media platform and waits comfortably to win the AU seat?

Amina would prefer her interests to come first when Kenyans are stranded in neighboring countries Sudan and Ethiopia. Helpless and resigned to fate.
Letter to the Honourable Miss Amina Mohammed
Hello ma’am i hope this finds you well, i begin this letter with a kind request that may you use your staunch and charismatic vigour to win Kenya investors and financiers to improve our ailing labour services sector. There are a lot of urgent needs at home than there are abroad and It only takes a well utilized opportunity for another one to open.

Diplomatically Amina you are very well skilled but work for Kenya first then tackle Africa next.

And don’t lose hope for all your dreams yet there is always a second chance.

As a parting shot I wish to congratulate the new Africa Union Chairman Faki Mahammat, may you work to improve our beautiful continent? Help us, to, together, prove beyond a reasonable doubt that we can surpass neocolonialism and imperialism to make Africa great. Never tire to eradicate extremist groups responsible for brute acts throughout the continent. You’ve have the the unified states’ machinery and the hopeful full support of African leaders. Congratulations and we wish you all the best, may you lead us to demystify the negative myths about Africa perceived by those who misunderstand us.

Why I believe Matiangi ‘Ma-teargas’ Deserves a Nobel Peace Prize

I thought to myself,or is it too way exaggerated? I do not believe am erroneous by saying so?

Fred Matiangi is one of the most efficient and effective cabinet secretaries in Uhuru Kenyatta’s government and we can all confirm this. He is determined and very keen to make all the necessary reforms to transform and metamorphosize the education sector to the next level. Unlike his predecessors who regard themselves as mere office holders and believed that their role in office was to uphold normality, embrace mediocrity and wait for their tenure to be over, pack and leave, he is different in all viewpoints.

While other Cabinet secretaries are working so hard to loot Kenya dry and frustrate the normal mwananchi, Matiangi is overworking to see a legacy left behind. Matiangi should go down in the books of history as a legendary policymaker. In fact I will call for our enigmatic president to create a space for him both in the national archives and in the museum , so that our children and children’s children can be shown the clear icon of true  devotion.

In November 2015 a cabinet reshuffle was done, Matiangi  was moved to a  very poor and falling ministry where things were in shambles. Starting from the outrageous and enormous exam leakages, irrelevant and outdated curriculum, high cases of examination irregularities and a generally poorly managed education sector. Matiangi manned up in sobriety and took up the job. He never requested the president to give him some lighter duties like some of his counterparts did.

He knew he had all that it took to make the Kenyan education sector great again.  He began his job as we all can recall in an expeditious manner. The first thing we had was some adjustment of the education system; from the ancient  8.4.4 to a modern and relevant system. The main aim of this important milestone was to stop looking at a child as an academic giant  but  an all rounded child. The old system takes into consideration that a child can score A in academics but score an E in other segments of life while the new system embraces the fact that a child can score E in academics and score an A in art and craft. A child who is all rounded is the essential point here.  It’s the same  A  syndrome that finds students being  involved  in exam malpractices.Credits to Matiangi, the syndrome has acquired a cure.

Matiangi is a man who walks the talk. He says what he means and means what he says. He never contradicts himself and is a strict disciplinarian. I can quote him-in March 2016 during the official release of KCSE results he said it clearly,

Next time am not going to stand here and apologize due to exam irregularities”

That was exactly what happened , 5000 students had their exam cancelled in 2015 ,in 2016 none of them fell into the trap. Kudos Matiangi. Although it is easier said than done Matiangi began introducing reforms that looked so painful at the surface but of fundamental importance at the core. He had to prolong the second term, he had to ban prayers and visiting days ,he had to disband KNEC  executives and bring aboard serious and devoted leaders . Students began burning and scorching down schools in protest but Matiangi stayed steadfast and true to his words.

And the end-product was amazing.

Customary, national examination results are released in three months’ time , but with Matiangi things have taken another angle  and a sui generis bearing , 29 days later exam results were out. Fred Matiangi would go ahead and explain. Unlike before, all marking stations were confined within Nairobi thus saving time and increasing proper supervision. Matiangi would go ahead and pose a question “If you can take one month to do a job, why would you need three?”

It was very important to dwell on this for it was  believed that the three months that were taken there before made a room for doctoring exam results, altering figures and manipulation of entire results and thus obtaining results that are not credible.

The incumbent education Cabinet secretary has not augured well with a lot of school heads. A lot calling him a Ma-teargas. I do believe that

How I wish this country can just have ten Matiangis, some to fight  corruption others to eradicate thuggery ,some others to fight corrrupt NTSA officers on our roads ,others to unmask cartels and some to  unravel mysteries in the security docket .

May  Matiangi’s effect be felt in our lives come 2017.

have a progressive year 2017

Dear Religous fanatics, atheists are not satanists

Religion confusion

Human beings of sound mind and character have the freedom of fundamentally questioning anything that comes their way. They will instigate wars or embark on meticulous researches just to find that microscopic organism that results  to pandemics of disease. When things get fascinating they look around and  come to  realization of having exhausted everything within their  scope, a tendency of finding out what’s beyond them begins to cripple in. They will even go to the extent of questioning the existence or inexistence of God-their creator. This is mind boggling. They will ask who God is, and why he chooses to remain silent when his people are suffering and dying in Aleppo,Syria. This got me engrossed, for this  I wanted to share this masterpiece with you  my dear blog subscribers.

In reference to the subject- I know there is a cryptic power that runs the  nature, there is an enigmatic  potency  that keeps the earth rotating on its orbit and there is a reason as to why a day only has 24 hours ,not more, not less. If at all this force and power comes from that super natural being –called God, then to me God exists.

Any person trying to justify inexistence of God cannot win their argument  before mentioning ‘God’ several times. The mere mention of the word ‘GOD’  in their debates  presupposes His existence .This would  simply denote that they are aware that he exists but choose to act blind, force their way in, collect all sorts of evidence-just  in attempt to prove  that indeed  God does not exist. Atheists are so much infatuated in God that they believe doesn’t exist than in professing their own faith.

They will spend time   disapproving other people’s religions at the expense of their own.Atheists -just a small portion of humans trying to impose their beliefs and fabrications on people who have not yet made a  firm decision on what faith ,dogma and code of belief to subscribe to.

Atheists could be among the few educated  geeks that the world has. They have all scientific facts, proofs and substantiations against any utterance made to demean their values and beliefs. They have even made it level higher; taking some theology and philosophical classes, just to arm themselves with defense. If you are a very strong Christian, they will look for something to intimidate and make you believe that your religion and indirectly –your God  is of no value.

For instance look at these

  • If you worship a God who drowned his children for being disobedient during the time of Noah, then you have no rights to criticize my morals ‘’

They get to a point of expounding on some particular Bible clauses they believe are self-contradictory and illogical.

For instance there is this

  • God from his own wisdom had to be shown which doors belonged to Israelites during the Passover night.

This is very true, if you can recall the incident; All Israelites were instructed to smear their doorpost with blood to be identified by the angel of death.

Linda Beatty a very passionate American atheist once said that God is very powerful but he is not all powerful to prove that he exists.

Contrary–majoring on Christianity as it’s the best religion known to me; we have an allotment of indoctrinated and brainwashed religious fanatics, who want to live on earth like it is heaven. Partly, I blame the society we were brought up in. A society that respects shrines meant to venerate the ‘superior being’. Nobody has guts to point a finger at them.No one can question the integrity of their pastors, priests and other ‘men of God.’ Even when you buttonhole them in quest of elucidation on certain sections of the Bible; they have a tendency of thinking that you are questioning their ‘holy calling’.

Certain clauses of the Holy Bible indicate that Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain, Abel and Seth; but then we are later informed that they got married: The question is, whom did they marry? Did they marry their own sister?Which amounts to incest? Think about it.

I sometimes wonder why we fight so hard to champion for Christianity –an imported religion that is quite foreign to us. The Bible itself was written by believers and not free

thinkers. To know whether God exists or not, you don’t need a Quran or a Bible or even a padre, sit back at the comfort of your balcony, watch  and listen as the nature speaks to you . It will tell you how well organized its maker-God is.

However as we live in a free world, It is so archaic, barbaric and an exhibition of narrow mindedness to discriminate or subject anyone to prejudice on basis of their religious inclination. Everyone at their free will has a right to worship and venerate his own divine  being.

To sum up, religion is  our today’s ultimate science fiction –yet another alternate universe where lies are seen as reality and reality seen to be lies. A thought of my own- better to live believing in God and at the end find there is none, rather  than live believing that God doesn’t exist and find him at the end .

Your social media account is your today’s C.V. Be sure to post only what adds value to it

Six months ago today, I was seated at the silent corner of the picturesque of the Kenyatta University postmodern library and had been reading for a few hours when I decided to turn my phone’s pocket data on

I went straight to my Whatsapp Messenger and noted a dormant WhatsApp group that is forever silent and with very little activity of members “LEFTING” and the typical group icon changers rather noisy. Things had taken rather a new course. An “unusual” topic had been brought on board. I consequently got eager to find out whatever it was that was making the group really “Excited”. A couple of images drew in. l looked at them closely and I was unable to stomach what I saw. One group member said,

“Kuna dame Fulani hapa Nyayo hostel anascream, nadhania hymen yake inatolewa.”(There is a certain lady screaming  around Nyayo hostel. I think she’s losing her virginity.)

The topic automatically grabbed the attention of the idle comrades. I could not conjure up how a little, petty and pathetic girl would let the whole campus know that she was losing her virginity.

I thought to myself.I was of a mind to upload those images to my Facebook account and attach a hash tag to the ever ridiculous Kenyans on Twitter (KOT). Long before the thought came to my mind, I was thunderstruck up on checking those images closely and seeing a familiar face. I regretted my initial thought on realizing that it was my friend that had been caught by the never-forgiving multitude. I maneuvered my ways, until I got to meet her in person. She explained her side of the story and it clearly refuted the version that was doing rounds in the notorious cyber space.

Truth is, we are subsisting in an era where social media is the best tool to reach out to the public and have our say. Even so, most of us don’t care what message, what video, what image, what audio; we let circulate in the aforesaid platforms. It’s about time we start giving it a second thought. You might not be aware but the little things eventually torment someone’s self-esteem. You psychologically kill that person without knowing.
You all heard about the ill reputed Ken Wa Mwangi that went exposing his malevolent and nasty mind to the whole world with a single Facebook post. Though he later made an apology, the damage was beyond repair. His pathetic point of view concerning sex with minors was at its best according to that post. But what were his intentions? It goes without saying. An intended pun. But what did we interpret? A mere Facebook post cost him his job.
On 20th December 2013, I.A.C P.R guru and corporate communications Director  Chief Justin Sacco tweeted about her planned vacation to Africa:
Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white.

How racist! She then took her flight, forgetting her twitter account for a moment until she landed in Africa. However it had become a trending hash tag by then with thousands of retweets. It got to her company’s (IAC) attention. They fired her thanks to a mere racist joke that she thought was funny.
In the modern world, a click of a button can send you to Canada or Austria. Anywhere. Across the globe if you wish. We ought to be scrupulous, careful and above all cautious about what we post online. Consider all the possible impacts from all dimensions and of utmost importance be sure you aren’t by chance offending anyone

For instance, you may see a plus-size woman who has little regard for her chubby self posting nude photos of her bumpy a$$ in return for cheap social media ‘fame’. It’s a pity. You attract mega LIKES and comments.Does that put a plate of food on her table? What good does it bring forth? Does she know that it only demeans her and strips her of all respect and dignity? This is the truth; whoever shows a lot in most cases has very little to offer. Clothe your body sister, and respect yourself.

As I wind up, just so you know ;
A single Facebook post can put you behind bars. Ask Allan Wadi Okengo, a Moi university student serving a two year jail term after insulting the president with a Facebook comment.
A single tweet that you find funny may leave you jobless.
A wrongly forwarded WhatsApp message to a Prayer cell could make you trend for the wrong reasons and not only leave you ashamed but also make you deal with all the consequential implications. Ask brother Ochola.

You have all the examples in the world to urge you to be a better person.

Superiority Complexity can be cured only by the honesty of humility

black-man-interview-suit.pngSuperiority complexity is to say that you do not expect people to look up to you if you always look down upon them. A day which I can get a whiff of from distance will come when you shall become the greatest person you have always dreamed of.

The most successful business man

The most renowned footballer

The most celebrated musician

The most charismatic pastor

The most fortuitous media anchor

And as the case may be, the president of the most powerful nation on earth.

All your life objectives shall be accomplished. Get all academic certificates, marry the most stunning woman , get the most well behaved children, reside in the most expansive estates and  presumably drive in Rolls Royce. You will plausibly, be at the pick of your life and the feeling that you are on top of the world will begin to cripple in. You will feel like you don’t need more status than you already have. I know it might look like a big deal but you know there is nothing impossible in this world.

About what is impossible or not gets not to be the business of the day. Now let me get a space in this blog site and now ask, what will you take those great successes and life achievements for? Will you let them overtake you? Will you allow the newly acquired status make you forget people that you knew?

Yes, a feeling of superiority or mightiness will always be there, and that’s irrefutable but will the superiority drug you? It’s my main agenda I want to discuss it with you today. Dear blog subscribers. In my entire life which I won’t hoodwink   and say that is long to have seen everything but I can avow without any doubts or whatsoever, that I have seen illustrious  ‘kings’ who had prodigious ‘empires’ being converted into powerless clan’s men. I have seen foremen ending up to be hawkers in the streets and off drives of Nairobi. I have seen a boss’s driver owning fleets of cars. Am not trying to talk about humility, no! I have already discussed this in my earlier posts. All am trying to shed light on is that; whoever you are despising today might be tomorrow’s mightiest king. Won’t you be ashamed and remorseful bowing before him when tomorrow comes?

PEOPLE ALSO READ: Live In the reality, forget about the past It’s not your portion

Conditions in life are never permanent .Today you have it all, tomorrow all that you had is gone. Who will be there to lend a hand to you? It could be those you are down trodding and treating them with contempt. You never know. Worst of it is when you have terribly failed and degraded but you can still not accept the ‘new life’, what is termed as mid life crisis. The new ‘reality’ .We all know that if you argue with the reality at the end you lose. At This point you begin to act so arrogantly in an effort to mask all of your inferiorities, failures and shortcomings .You cannot with stand all that shame. Such an act is what we term as superiority complex- a psychological defense system in which a person’s feelings of bigness tries to counter his or her feelings of failure .When nothing in their life seems to work they vacillate  and begins to blame anything and anyone  around them . They start blaming the environment they are in, friends they keep, country they are in and certainly they blame everything! They know that nothing is wrong about them.

Even so when they know they are Wong, they will never stand to be guided or corrected, for in any case they know it all. To them all they know is all that there is to know, full stop. No room for alteration or modification.

Am pretty sure that you have come across them. They look down upon everyone from a great height, they find by all means a way to keep themselves a level higher. They see you as an inferior or second rate being that props them. In actual sense they treat you like you never exist.  They forget you so fast

I say, Superiority complexity is a personal disorder, in case you come across anyone with it, please call 911 and immediately order for an ambulance, rush them to the nearest therapy centre, put them under an intensive care unit.. These people need a very serious therapy. Keep them distance before they infect you with the disorder. It was pun intended though!

Let me not look like am advocating for inferiority complexity. No! There is a whopping difference between superiority and inferiority complexity, but not an iota is good. Personally I know am inferior to Bill gates financially, Usain bolt in a 100 M race, LeBron James in playing basketball. But that should never make me feel inferior, by this am trying to hammer a sensible point.’Knowing’ and ‘feeling’ are two totally different things. Knowing makes you accept facts and things as they are , but feeling makes you know that you cannot stand a chance Of becoming.

Steer clear of superiority complexity   , stay away from inferiority complexity, but always engender a high self confidence. This makes you believe in yourself as a unique being.

As I wind up the talk, never feel so small to make a difference .Remember that a tiny mosquito can make the mightiest president on earth have a sleepless night!

Live In the reality, forget about the past It’s not your portion

”Live in the reality, get out of an idealistic world- a world that exists only in your mind.” Ng’ang’a The Blogger

imageI came across a businessman who was going through a hell of life. He had faced multiple losses within the same duration. To start with: He was filing his business for bankruptcy. As if that was not enough, one fateful evening he received a call informing him that the building where his two children and wife resided collapsed. Rescue operations were launched and two days later it was confirmed that they were all dead. What a loss? Business down! Family finished. Isn’t it such a heavy unbearable blow to him?
Is there hope for life after this?

Someone said that everything happens for and with a reason. But our greatest fear is that we don’t know that reason.  We have many of us who find themselves in life that seems like all doors are closed. No single door makes way for us. A t this point let me deem some lime light: Have you interminably heard about God’s test? He did that to Jesus who was his son, who are we not to be tested?

I would like to say that God was the first programmer, he does problem computation and his codes never crack. He doesn’t give alternatives on how to execute a given command; all of them follows one prescribed direction and that’s why most of our doors get locked.

I hark back to a day when I lost my precious gadget a time that I was not expecting any cash from anyone at any time soon.   And bear in mind that the gadget was so vital to me. I was so frail that whoever came with a suggestion on how to help me recover it, I fell into the trap. Luckily, I came across one particular guy who up to day I feel that God used him NOT to help me.
He came up with a nebulous innuendo suggestion on how he could have helped  me seek a sorcerer. A necromancer, who would help me recover my gadget. The fella was just but enticing me with fake empty and promises. He was lying it all; mendacious indeed, I saw it in his eyes but I chose to remain tongue-tied.

(People Also Read : Refuse to die when it’s not your turn!!)

Following him for weeks, assuming miracles out of nowhere would happen, the obvious happened. I reached a point in time when I resolved to give it all to God. I asked him to take on from where I left. I was already at the end of tunnel but I could not see any light. At that juncture, I was dumbfounded by how things started to unfold.
He pointed for me the only door that was open. I got a part time job that earned me some good cash the same day I got a precious gadget. Before got it, I thought of how I would be moving from town A to B on tenterhooks that I will one day find it. Can that happen? Chances are almost negligible. Trust me.

I also ruminated of how I would get a ‘mganga’ who would help me locate my exquisite phone back. I was not saying YES to the reality of the matter. This made me hurt, it made me fear what was to come. It only saw me distorted, disconnected and almost certainly destroying the life that I have taken so long to establish. Accepting reality, declaring that the past is not your portion and not accepting to dwell in the past is the best tip to keep the tricky life moving on and always ensuring that one is not a victim of circumstances.

Do not resist if it has happened. The future still awaits for you, rectify where you can. Living in the reality is for the businessman to say that “I know it’s hard to live a life without my wife, children, but there is nothing I can do to bring them back.
Live in the real world, don’t hope for miracles to work. Struggle to get A’s in God’s test for once you excel in them everything will be given back to you in double portions.
By the way God only tests whether you can live without what you assume sustains your life.
As a valediction; do not dwell in past, that is not your portion.
Do not procrastinate that’s only done by those who believe that tomorrow belongs to them.
Live today it’s your present as you keep in mind that your past mistakes are meant to guide, not to define you.

Refuse to die when it’s not your turn

The six university students who faced a grisly road accident along Kisii -Kilgoris road.

God giveth ; God takes“. We are all familiar with this popular condolence message. I hope you are getting it clear :it’s God who takes you and it’s not for you to take yourself to Him. Therefore relax he will come for you when it’s your turn.

As the perturbing pictures of the ladies who faced a grisly road accident along Kisii – Kilgoris Road  trolled on social media , made headlines, got everyone sympathizing and others commiserating for the bereaved,  I perceived the same through a different intellectual lenses. Nearly all Whatsapp groups I belong to changed their group icons in their honor.

The stunning and good looking ladies are now six-feet under and before long we shall forget about the incident .
Now this is where I want to chip in and certainly get a first class life lesson for us who are still alive.  The latest breaking news (by then) indicated that they had travelled from Nairobi to Kisii to join their buddies in celebrating a comrade-as they call them-who scarcely had satisfactorily completed his four-year course at JKUAT.
It was now their turn to tell him “Congratulations Brother, you made it happen”.
Thanks for the sad occurrence, it never happened. Joy turned into tears. From a white to a black dress code.

Bringing the case to a real context, it’s my earnest belief that there is a mother who has been struck heavily by this unbearable loss. Losing a youngster, a person who has fresh blood, unending potentials and so much energy that can push this nation to the next level, is such a heavy blow below the belt to all of us.
Parents, family members and even the entire society had put such amount of hope in the aforesaid ladies that they would change their lives for the better. But here we are, death is such a cruel thief, it snatched them away.
The only thing we did as Kenyans was changing profile pictures of our social media accounts as a way of condoling with the family of the deceased, asking them to rest in peace as if they could hear. We aren’t sure whether they rested in peace; all that we know is that they are gone.
To those who were be in position, they  attended the burial to send them off to the so-said glory of eternal life. They stared at family members of the deceased as they broke and went lose into tears, and we will  wish we can comfort them, but can we?

Dear readers, when we die, factually we are gone. To our dear Christians-they hope to see you again after Jesus’ second coming, our Hindu brothers; hopes that you will reincarnate and come back to life in another form. To me we only live once, and for that matter die once also. Death means termination of life. Blood will no longer flow in your veins.
Once we are gone, people will have very little that they can do to bring us back. They shall mourn  send condolences, the first day or even the second one, they shall put us in the obituaries but that won’t wake up us from death.
Not that when you are gone earth will stop rotating .No, absolutely not! The Clock will continue ticking. Things will customary go on, actually very few people will note that you are no more. To be expected, only  a few of your  friends who belong to your inner circle will know . Much as we don’t know this day, how and under what circumstance we shall relinquish life, there are things that we do that jeopardize our lives. This tells us to stop living with this notion ‘‘Ukifa, chako kimefika. ’
Why drink and still insist on driving?
Why reckless driving?
Why go to swim in the deep sea without life savers?
Why walk with people you  are not assured of your safety in a middle of a totally dark night?
Why take a selfie photo on a roof top of a ten storey-building reaching out for some cheap fame?
Why even engage in an intimate relationship with a person you don’t trust?
Why drink second generation alcohol and turn a blind eye to the fact that they have the wrong chemical composition?
Why go up a tree with a rope to hung your self?
Come on, why terminate the freely and Godly given life?  I dare ask.

We are all candidates of death; we don’t know exactly what our day is. Death never chooses who to take first, but your life choices will determine how fast death catches up with you.  I say and still continue to insist, I will not let sympathies override logics. We have to care about the manner in which we die by engaging in the right activities. We must die in a dignified manner. When Nana Gichuru died some months ago,it got everyone empathizing as if over speeding is legal.
When the grisly road accident occurred left all the six charming ladies dead – social media went frenzy –sources have it that the driver was high on something.
But who cares?
In any case they are gone, dead and will be forgotten.

Don’t live, like you are rehearsing . Live your life and refuse to die when it’s not your turn!

Can the Real Ng’ang’a the Blogger Stand Alone?

‘I urge you to get out of stupor , find, pinpoint  and settle for what you are passionate about and that what gives you maximum  satisfaction. ” Ng’ang’a the Blogger

Can the real Ng’ang’a The Blogger stand Alone?

Of course, it’s a point always at issue. Everybody seeks after me to clarify to them on daily basis. How do i cope up with a life that i always seem to have the right tips on how to handle its delicate issues? Am always at the forefront in providing solutions to critical issues in life. Does my life really get along well?

Well, i don’t know exactly how I am supposed to respond to this. But to let  cat out of the bag, let me not hoodwink, am not the most ecstatic man on earth am not anywhere close to that. Blogging and articles contained herein are developed and written as a result of passion. Anytime you grow to be passionate about what you do , you develop a liking towards it such that there is nonentity that can stop you from settling on your dreams. Thank God, i love blogging and better so penning down articles meant to help uplift people’s optimism .It helps me place them a notch higher to achieve their life goals and desires.
This has given me a new brand name “Ng’ang’a The Blogger ™”  and to be sure of  what am talking about; walk along Cassandra street and other off- drives of Kenyatta University. Ask most of the aspiring politicians in the student council, how they savagely seek after me to do for them  social media campaigns . With an obvious belief-that i have masses behind me. Well, they do get a rude shock when i turn their entreaties down in the name of not compromising on what am called for.

That aside, back to my story. Am exhilarated when i get feedback from my esteemed diehard blog subscribers, they cascade me with praises which  I don’t much about their ingenuity. I have to scuffle hard to know who is piloting  me to the right path and who is not. In days to come i will  overtly   concede  that there are a times when i feel knocked down to my knees, disenchanted  and i feel that i equally need  ‘food for soul’ to get going. I also, don’t know it all. I cannot stand alone for long. I need you. I need the other person but that doesn’t infer that i will have to wait for ‘him’ and ‘them’ to be able to effectuate my  goals and ambitions. I don’t settle for less than what i once dreamt of becoming. I can’t sleep before I see that come true. I will stand up fight by all means to see myself being transformed to a man of purpose and germaneness to the society. Plant a smile on my mother. Help those who look up to me to turn out to be all that they have wanted to be.

Today, as i speak to you dear readers, i urge you to get out of stupor , find , pinpoint  and settle for what you are passionate about and that what gives you maximum  satisfaction  .   Do it so well  and if it proves to be hard-hitting  and no other thing is thriving  at least passion will keep you there. And if passion doesn’t work, after you have done all your best then just know that isn’t what you were meant to be. Go back to the drawing board, collect yourself and find your true nature before you get covered by layers and heaps of dust.

Envying the Child I was.

It’s a matter of you leading/following or getting out of the way ”. Ng’ang’a The Blogger

crawling baby @ngangathebloggerThere was a time I was and I used to be a weaning baby, yes a toothless child. Those were the days I was not fathoming what really goes on around the world. I did not know much about planet earth. I only had a vague glimpse of my mother and a few people who used to baby-seat me.

All that I experienced during that time was absolute irresistible love, everybody wanted to poke my face telling me, “Grow, grow child.”

Time drifted slowly, I gradually started having a handle on environment which I was in. The Kikuyu accent started to imbibe and not long I started pronouncing ‘green’ as ‘gleen . I could not tell what the difference between ‘L’ and ‘R’ was in terms of elocution, for in any case no one sees the picture while inside the frame. I later came to find that’s the real identity of Kikuyus you know Mount Kenya’s chaps.

Time to get schooled came, I entered class enthusiastic and zealous but worst of it , I didn’t know why I was in school. Maybe age dictated?  Or my parents forced me. Time went on and a little while I started realizing that being in school makes one a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer and less than that was an abomination. So I started singing, “ when I grow up I would like to be a doctor!” Not because I had the doctor genes in my veins but because the atmosphere by then dictated so. As a child I was never conscientious of my life. I cared less. I didn’t have to worry so much about myself, someone else was. My mother was at the forefront in ensuring that I was as much comfortable as possible.

I was innocent : Very innocuous indeed. Ask Jesus, if his second coming was during my childhood era, I could have gotten an uninterrupted entry to the so-said glory and paradise of heaven .

But today things have changed, taken a rather  new course. I would say that, today am held responsible of my actions and moves. . Today am required to set my own principles and guidelines to adhere to. Am always planning and laying strategies ahead of time on how to make my life a success .Things that I never I did as a youngster. I have to say a strong NO to some things because I have already said YES to some other better ones.

Peoples’ pseudo –love has faded away . Nobody shows their love and compassion towards me. Others doing this deliberately because I have my own unique core values that I uphold and whoever doesn’t embrace them doessn’t become part of me. I apply jig-saw fit theory, if you do not fit then suit yourself. It’s a matter of you leading/following or getting out of the way. No wonder I have very few friends around me.

Let me strongly bear a witness that I envy infancy life by all means. A good feeling, when the entire society is minding about your well being among numerous other things. But who said I was to forever remain a child? I am now in realistic world where am compelled to face world on my own. A lone ranger. I have to hold fort of my life, liking it as it is and fighting very hard to change where I can.

When all is gone and seems like nothing is what it used to be, God almighty’s  love and care remains unchanged . He guides us only when we accept to be in him.

It’s Only When You are Humble

Being  Humble Might Open  Heaven for You

“No matter how small, humble people will always make you feel important when you are around them.”

most-humble.jpgHave you ever taken some time off your busy schedule to do a quick overview?  You look back and see how good those people you thought you were better than are doing?  You were only advantaged by an element of time. And if I may ask, where are they now? Are you still better than them? I guess not, they are far much ahead of you.

If someone took Joseph father of Jesus frivolously because he was a carpenter, then it later turned out to be a rude shock when Baby Jesus was born for he became father of the most powerful man and savior of the mankind. As a leader be humble enough to listen to complains of your subject. Do not treat them as nonpersons because you do not know who they will turn out to be. You might be despising the person to become the next big thing. You never know. You are at the top right now, but is there a guarantee that you will forever remain there? How do you want to be taken when you will no longer be defined by your present-day position, titles and pseudo-powers?

In my entire life, I won’t say that am old to have seen everything but I can assure you that I have witnessed a Land lord degrading to a tenant and a tenant becoming a real estate dealer.  Among key things upheld by the tenant who becomes a landlord (keeping other factors of success constant) it’s just humility .Being subservient enough to listen. Now what ruins the landlord who becomes a tenant (Keeping other factors of failing constant) is pride. So egotistical that they do not give room for alterations. They say their decisions are final.

If you were or you still are a Forensic Science student at Kenyatta University you must have come across an African geek-I call him, wisdom centered chap-Dr. Mwonjuria. He had a shrewd saying that dwelt so much on humility.

He says,

  • Woe onto those who do not show humility they will find themselves being humiliated.

  • Whoever is not humble, shall be humbled.

(People Also Read:  Success Has a Process)

I concurred with him for the reason that anyone who takes pride in their current status, either wealth, power and titles never had nice endings. There are a million reasons why one needs to be humble but here are two chief ones

To start with, it’s only when one is humble that he is able to learn a lot. A person who never exhibits even an inch of humility can never tolerate the other person, whether senior or not to explain any sentiments to them. And when he does he assumes Know-it-all character. He finishes words for you. You would say he has a talent in reading people’s minds.

Right on their face I would say they have a bad attitude. Whoever has a bad attitude is never teachable. He doesn’t give his mind an allowance to grasp a new concept. Humility is to say that am humble enough to listen even if I know most of the things that you are talking about, let me be attentive I may get something that I have never heard.

That’s the right attitude.

Secondly it’s only a humble person who celebrate gifting in other people. They appreciate those who have got outstanding attributes in their respective fields. They tell you “Congrats”, “Keep up” to when you deserve it. They can quickly apologize, say ‘’sorry’’ and promise that will never happen again. Not that they are weak, but only an indicator that they are humble enough to swallow their pride and let go their ego.

No matter how small, humble people will always make you feel important when you are around them.

Be there down to earth and you will just be dumbfounded on how things will take new course in your life.

Success Has a Process

Start Small, End  Big.”

crawling baby @ngangatheblogger

A crawling baby. Photo Credit: Nick Chiles

When a child is born and immediately starts talking and walking, wont you be startled?
Won’t you say this is associated with sorcery or conspiracy? Why?
This answer is quite simple? Typically, as soon as the baby is born, he should crawl, talk, walk, and among numerous others.
So, at the present you have a dream of becoming the next big thing? Yeah, I know, but this won’t happen overnight. You have to assume fortitude of a Saint and work so hard and objectively to get to where you want to be. I have always been tempted to covet, though it’s a sin, this particular Mercedes S class, and so anytime I think about getting a job this thought comes also hand in hand.
When I receive my first salary I will ensure that I have purchased myself this Car of my dream.
But I forget to ask myself the many years it has taken for that chap to get money to own the same car.
All that we see is a full packaged movie that goes for an hour or two but we don’t take time to find out what was behind the scene. A lot was done, some scenes were done up to fifty times before coming up with the best clip from just a single scene. what an embarrassment!
At this point lets agree to drop our heightened expectations and we start working on our dreams. Not just a mere desire.
I met someone who was passing judgment on my very blogs in the name of making them look more enticing, her advice never fell on deaf ears, however I had only one message for him.
“A child is never born with teeth.”
Let me grow, allow me to build muscles, am not yet up to that level. You are raising me up higher than I am. An element of time is always the best and better still when God is the timer.

Wait for the yeast to work, a day, which I can get a whiff of from far is coming when will be fully baked. Keep in mind that a butterfly aided to get out of its cocoon spend rest of its time crawling. I don’t want to spend rest of my time crawling when am bequeathed with aptitude to fly.

There is a valid reason as to why rites of passage follows a certain order. You are born, you get initiated, you marry and later on you die. There is a logic behind this.
And if by chance you miss out on one of this stages you will go back there and you will pay dearly.
A popular Benga Musician Ken Wa Maria during his interviews was asked how he lends a hand to those who are under him and he said
“When I see you have a talent and you have really worked diligently under me, I assist you. I offer you a few guitars and drums set to go and start your own Orchestra Band
However anytime he did this he was ending up regretting for the reason that those he assist ends up hurling insult at him. Saying that he deceived them. But then why?
When they now go to face the real market (i.e. music industry) on their own they usually assume that its a downhill and when it doesn’t work out at all, they hurl insults at him.
From this encounter, the spanner boys around him do not consult to know where to start from and where to start they just want to find themselves superstars in a short span of time. But that can’t work!

You get the first salary, you want to do everything with it: Buy your dream house, live your best life .That can’t work either! Be patient, plant seeds of your dreams, weed them against any possible distractor. Ultimately your dream will just end up being what you have wanted it to  turn out to be.
What do populace say when they see your driving your own pricey car within a short while after securing yourself a job? Sure bet they start saying you are either an illuminati or a wanted robber. And one would ask why? Everybody knows that in success you have channels to follow before we honor you as one.
Starting small is the best way to go. It doesn’t make sense to see an influential person degrading, losing dignity and great conferred titles and winds up by becoming an unimportant person. A trivial one indeed.
Be energized, do more and more. Once you are done do not settle upon the first victory remember many tongues are in-waiting to proclaim that the first one was just but a luck.
In Japan soon after second world war Kaizen principle was introduced by by-then government to help the country reinstate their badly hit economy .The principle fundamentally revolved around making continuous improvement, in a long-term approach by working systematically seeking to achieve small and incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.

The point am driving home; start small and keep moving forward even if it means just one step.
Haba na haba hujaza kibaba Swahili men said this long ago.
Remember we only have 26 alphabets and 10 digits but we are able to combine those words and digit to come up with books that are up to thousand of pages.
Don’t fear to start small.
Even if it’s in business there is such nothing like small money.

Do not be afraid,
Rise up today, start with the small  that you have and before long you will bequeath what you have not.
